This is the best shot I could get of the August 2023 Super Blue Moon.
My shot of the first go round was marred by low clouds and fog.
Second run I got a wonderful shot. Little dim on the left due to my location.
"Super Moon" sounds cool, but “Harvest Moon” is legit as its usually in harvest season and provides light to work late into the night.
Another cool event is the “Blood Moon” or the “Total Lunar Eclipse”. When the night time moon is completely shadowed by the earth.
The moon has a slight “red” tint to it when this happens.
Few years ago we had a " Super Moon" on the same day as a "Blood Moon" / Total Lunar Eclipse. Unfortunately, I did not have the fancy camera. All I could do was stand in the yard and stare in awe of its beauty. Next one will be visible best on the other side of the planet. So maybe one day I get that Super Blood Moon picture..
Other "events" or "situations" can cause the moon to go red. Pollution or wildfires, where I spent most of my life wildfires are the majority cause of red moon / orange sky. Some places have the right angle for a “moon set” with sunlight hitting properly – fiery colors cast onto the moon.
